Analyst, Alternative Investments

The <strong>Analyst, Alternative Investments</strong> will work directly with a Senior Portfolio Manager and two experienced Alternative Investments team members to determine new fund and co-investment opportunities, make investment recommendations, and assist with portfolio monitoring and internal presentations.<br><br><strong>Specifically, You Will<br><br></strong><ul><li>Assist in conducting manager and co-investment research, due diligence, and monitoring the existing portfolio</li><li>Manage and track due diligence processes for new Private Equity fund, Private Credit fund, and equity co-investment commitments</li><li>Prepare investment memos for new fund commitments and co-investments</li><li>Review fund and co-investment legal documents alongside in-house legal counsel</li><li>Analyze key monthly and quarterly performance drivers</li><li>Assume key role in portfolio monitoring workflows and processes, including monthly cash flow and performance reporting</li><li>Conduct analysis on portfolio diversification, cash flow, and long-term forecasting</li><li>Represent Loews externally and, at times, independently at annual/quarterly fund meetings as required and summarize key meeting highlights</li><li>Handle ad hoc projects and prepare internal presentations</li><li>Monitor and interpret key developments in the private markets<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in economics, business/finance, or accounting with a strong record of academic achievement</li><li>2 years of investment banking, as a Private Equity/Private Credit placement agent or in a funds’ advisory group with career interest as an LP (Limited Partner/ fund investor) rather than a Private Equity firm career track</li><li>Alternatively, 2+ years in management consulting</li><li>Alternatively, 1-2 years of private markets experience in an investment role at a public or corporate pension, endowment, foundation, fund-of-funds, insurance company, investment/asset management firm, or as an investment consultant</li><li>Deep understanding of accounting/balance sheet analysis, finance, and financial markets</li><li>Strong interest in Alternative Investments, with an emphasis on Private Equity and Private Credit funds</li><li>Public markets or hedge fund experience a plus, including familiarity with Bloomberg</li><li>Experience with private markets tools a plus, including but not limited to: iLevel, Cobalt, Pitchbook</li><li>Strong technical skills and attention to detail, with proficiency in the MS Office Suite</li><li>Familiarity with AI tools, including ChatGPT, Claude, and Power Automate/Copilot</li><li>Willingness to support team success as needed and to work effectively in a team environment<br><br></li></ul><strong>Work Arrangement<br><br></strong>This role is located at 9 West 57th Street. This is a full-time exempt role with a salary of $86,100 - $129,150 plus an annual bonus and complete benefits package. Compensation offered within this range is determined by skills, experience, and organizational pay equity.
