This role is a remote Technical Lead responsible for providing technical direction while leading and growing a team of engineers. You will play a key role in building a new engineering team in Costa Rica, supporting global operations and collaborating with teams across the US and India. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a high level of ownership to ensure successful delivery of scalable and high-quality solutions.What You'll Bring:<div><h3>Technical Leadership & Delivery</h3><ul><li>Define and drive the technical direction, architecture, and design of applications and services</li><li>Lead the development of scalable, cloud-based solutions and platform components</li><li>Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and security</li><li>Provide hands-on technical guidance to the team when needed</li><li>Drive end-to-end ownership of projects from design through delivery</li></ul><h3></h3><h3>People Management & Team Leadership</h3><ul><li>Lead a team of engineers, including: DevOps Engineer(s) and Full Stack / Cloud Developer(s)</li><li>Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance guidance</li><li>Support team growth and capability development</li><li>Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and collaboration</li></ul><h3></h3><h3>Collaboration & Stakeholder Management</h3><ul><li>Collaborate with global teams across US, India, and Costa Rica</li><li>Ensure alignment across teams and stakeholders to deliver solutions effectively</li><li>Work closely with engineering, platform, and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions</li></ul><h3></h3><h3>Engineering Excellence & Innovation</h3><ul><li>Promote modern engineering practices, including Agile development and continuous improvement</li><li>Encourage the use of AI tools to improve productivity and development workflows (e.g., coding assistance, automation)</li><li>Support modernization and optimization of existing platforms and services</li></ul></div>Impact You'll Make:Qualifications<div><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field</li><li>7+ years of experience in software development</li><li>5+ years of experience in technical leadership and/or people management roles</li><li>Proven experience leading teams with direct reports</li><li>Strong experience in:<ul><li>Application design and system architecture</li><li>Cloud-based development environments</li><li>Service-oriented architectures and APIs</li></ul></li><li>Hands-on experience with .NET or Java (or both)</li><li>Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills</li><li>Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills</li></ul>Nice to have<div><ul><li>Experience leading distributed or global teams</li><li>Familiarity with development tools such as VS Code</li><li>Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines</li><li>Experience working in platform or large-scale enterprise environments</li><li>Familiarity with AI tools used in software development workflows</li></ul></div></div>This is a remote position which may require occasional in-person attendance at work-related events at the discretion of management.TransUnion Job TitleLead Developer, Applications Development
